Sportscover to support access to PROTEQT

HITIQ and Sportscover have announced a first-of-its-kind partnership that integrates PROTEQT into sports insurance, beginning with Hockey Australia channels. Under the model, when a concussion claim is confirmed under a Sportscover policy, Sportscover funds a PROTEQT unit for the insured member.

This update matters because support is often needed most after an incident, not just before one. The Sportscover partnership is designed to improve the concussion claims journey by providing access to professional-grade concussion management technology at the point of need. HITIQ will fulfil the unit directly through a dedicated Sportscover-branded digital channel.

The partnership launches through Hockey Australia and is intended to expand across other sports covered by Sportscover over time. It also includes year-one data collaboration using de-identified, aggregated impact data to support underwriting insight and player-safety initiatives.

For clubs, families and athletes, the value is simple: clearer support, easier access and a stronger pathway for managing concussion in community sport. It is a practical example of how player welfare can be embedded more directly into the broader sports ecosystem.
