HITIQ selected for prestigious Australian Sports Commission innovation grant

HITIQ Limited (ASX: HIQ) has been awarded a first of kind innovation grant by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) under The Park – a new innovation programme designed to connect Australian technology driven companies to the Australian sports sector to tackle key challenges. Selected in the Brain Performance Innovation category, HITIQ’s PROTEQT™ smart mouthguard and brain health platforms have been recognised for their potential to improve athlete health and safety across new areas of Australian sport.

What is The Park?

The Park is the ASC’s new innovation hub, created to link leading tech companies with Australia’s high-performance and community sports system. It focuses on five priority areas, including brain performance, and provides successful companies with grant funding, research support and access to elite sporting environments.

HITIQ’s selection acknowledges PROTEQT™ as a transformative brain health technology – combining instrumented mouthguard sensors with advanced data analytics to monitor head impacts, better manage athlete health and safety and build a stronger evidence base for decision-making in sport.

Accelerating brain health innovation in Australian sport

Through The Park, HITIQ will work directly with the ASC’s facilities, research teams and athlete populations. The programme will enable:

• Deployment of PROTEQT™ across Australian Olympic and Paralympic combat sports

• A structured product validation and pilot program across diverse athlete groups

• Collection of comprehensive head impact data from new and elite training environments

These initiatives will support the advancement of HITIQ’s sensor technology and analytics platform while contributing to new areas of knowledge which may influence national athlete safety standards and evidence-based policies for concussion and brain health. The ASC’s rigorous selection criteria – including technology readiness, innovation potential, team capability and alignment with national priorities – also provide strong market credibility for PROTEQT™ among National Sporting Organisations (NSOs), state institutes and community sports.
